William S. Weaver, 89 of Fryburg, passed away October 31, 2011 surrounded by members of his family.
Born August 15, 1922 near Shippenville he was the son of Austin and Mildred Schettler Weaver.
He attended a Lauer school near Shippenville and graduated from Shippenville High School in 1941.
He was a Lt. in the Army Air Force and served as a pilot in France and Italy during
WW II. He was a life member of the VFW Lodge #464 in Oil City, the American Legion post in Clarion and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #67 of Franklin.
He was married Oct. 18, 1947 to E. Virginia Powell who preceded him in death on March 3, 2006.
Mr. Weaver was part owner of AP Weaver & Sons Coal Company.
He served as a director at First United National Bank in Fryburg, Venus Telephone Corp. in Venus, and Farmers Mutual Insurance in Marble.
He is survived by three sons, W. Terry Weaver and his wife Denise of Plum, Pgh. Greg Weaver and his wife Holly of Lucinda, Randy Weaver and his wife Penny of Houston TX. Three daughters, Jolene Cyphert and her husband Randy of Clarion, Jill Ruyechan and her husband Michael of Moon Twp., and Jan Lauffer and her husband Vern of Kossuth also survive.
Grandchildren Nina and Max Weaver of Plum, Chase and Kain Weaver of Lucinda, Brent Weaver of Houston, Nicole Cyphert of Charlotte NC, Nathan and Neil Cyphert of Brooklyn, NY, Kadin Ruyechan of Moon Twp., Amber Weaver and Tarah Lauffer of Kossuth; great-grandson Braedin Weaver of Huston, a brother Russ Weaver of Marble,
a sister-in-law Lois Chernicky and husband Pete of Clarion and a sister-in-law Patricia Powell of Venus also survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother Earl Weaver, two sister-in-laws Esther Weaver and Jane Weaver and a brother-in-law Robert Powell.
Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg will be caring for the family.
There will not be a public viewing.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St.
Michael’s Church in Fryburg with the Rev. D.G. Davis III, pastor presiding.
Friends will be received after Mass at St. Michael Church.
