William R Glas

William R. Glas, 72, of Oil City passed away January 17, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

Born on September 8, 1940 in Venus, PA and he was the son of Frank and Florence Montague Glas, who have both preceded him in death.

He was married to the former Ruth A. Salsgiver who preceded him in death on October 10, 2004.

William was very proud of his work as a tree climber for numerous companies in the area.  He also worked for Suburban Propane and Gas and Electraloy.

Outside of work William had a love for the outdoors.  He could often be found fishing, trapping and hunting.  Spending time with his family was also very important to him.

William is survived by his three sons: William Glas of North Carolina; Frank Glas and his wife Casey of Oil City; and Richard Glas and companion Karrie Hartle of Oil City.  Grandchildren surviving are McKynna Glas of Oil City, Savanna Glas of Pittsburgh, Devan Steele of Oil City and Jesiah Williams of Oil City.  Also surviving are Williams sisters: Jeraldine, Doris, Shirley, and Mary Lou.  He was preceded in death my an infant brother Howard.

Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg will be caring for the family.  As per his wishes there will be no public visitations and interment will be in Venus Cemetery.
