Wilbur L. Bauer, age 79 of Leeper, passed away early Saturday morning, February 15, 2025 following an illness.
Born May 21,1945 in Leeper, he was the son of the late Henry F. Bauer and Alice Flick Bauer.
He was married to Faye Hinson Bauer of Clarion, and she survives.
Wilbur graduated from North Clarion High School, and was a veteran of the US Army where he was a helicopter repairman in Vietnam. After his service in the military, he worked at Beverly Health Care as a maintenance supervisor until he retired. He was also an electrician by trade.
He loved going to auctions, sprint car racing, photography, fishing, coin and knife collecting, as well as being an international bench rest shooter.
Wilbur is survived by one son, Wilbur “Willy” Bauer, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Seneca; one daughter, Lynn Bauer and her partner, Rick Bish, of Marienville; 8 Grandchildren: Chelsie Bauer and her partner Jamie Glass; Chandler Bauer and his partner Averi Fonzo; Chayden Bauer, Cody Bish, Janiya Jones, Jondell Jones, J’Lynn Jones, and Jaden Jones; 2 great grandchildren; Julian and Stevie, and one on the way.
Also surviving are 3 brothers: Ron Bauer, Randy Bauer and Hank Bauer; one sister, Linda Hagerty; numerous nieces and nephews and his longtime companion, Sue Arbuckle, of Shippenville.
Per Wilbur’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Full Military Honors will be accorded graveside at Crown Cemetery, on a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Faller/Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fryburg.
