Sarah A. “Sally” Kinch, age 89 of Shippenville, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 11, 2025 at the Clarion Hospital.
Born May 31, 1936 on the family farm in Shippenville, she was a daughter of the late William E. Schettler and Anna M. Hargenrader Schettler, and was a graduate of North Clarion High School.
She married Norman J. Kinch on August 24, 1957 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2007.
Sally was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Fryburg, where she was a member of the Rosary Society since she was a teenager. She held many positions over the years and was active in St. Michael’s PTA.
She loved puzzles and her proudest accomplishment was raising her family to remain close to this day.
Survivors include her eight children: Beverly (Willis) Burris of Marble, Nancy Daugherty of Clarion, Edward (Mary) Kinch of Port Monmouth, New Jersey, Carol (Charles) Kiser of Tionesta, Susan (Matthew) McCleary of Shippenville, Patricia (Scott) DeLaney of Leeper, Victoria (John) Angelo of Erie and Mark (Juliet) Kinch of Harleysville.
Sally was a devoted and proud grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by 21 grandchildren: Tania (Robert) Griffith, Gary Burris, Benjamin (Ellie) Burris, Jacob Daugherty, Connor Kinch, Ethan Kinch, Charles (Mataya) Kiser Jr., Chad (Savannah) Kiser, Craig Kiser, Cassandra (Shaun) Kiehlmeier, Garrett (Kayla) McCleary, Aimee (Dylan) Ziegler, Christopher DeLaney, Ryan DeLaney, Scott DeLaney Jr, Nicholas (Autumn) Angelo, Anthony Angelo, Jack Kinch, Gabriella Kinch, Claudia Sarah Kinch and Alessandra Kinch; 11 great grandchildren: Alex, Addi, Callie, Kayie, Zander, Coen, Kaine, Khloe, Colton, Keagan, Quinn and two on the way.
She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ditz of Shippenville; two sisters-in-law, Betty Lander of Lucinda and Barb Schettler of Shippenville, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and her dear friend, Anita Mason of Knox.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by an infant daughter; brothers, Joseph and James; son-in-law, Richard Daughtery; brothers-in-law: Paul Ditz, Howard Kinch and Steve Lander, and sisters-in-law, Ann Kinch and Diane Schettler.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Faller/Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 19200 Route 208, Fryburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at St. Michael Church, 18765 Route 208, Fryburg. Father Michael Polinek, parish priest, will serve as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery.
