Robert A. Strauser, 76, of Cranberry passed away July 27, 2013 at Clarion Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born on November 3, 1936 in Leatherwood, PA and was the son of William and Josephine Plyler Strauser.
Robert attended Union High School in Rimersburg and later served in the United States Army from 1962-1968.
On May 21, 1966 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, Robert was married to Bernice Siegel Strauser who survives.
Robert was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 for 46 years as an equipment operator until his retirement in 2004.
He enjoyed antique tractor pulling, attending auctions, hunting, and fishing. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Local 66.
Robert is survived by his wife and four daughters: Sharon Jordan and husband Bill of Rockland, Karen Lemke and husband Larry of Harrisville, Deborah Warner and husband Jeff of Shippenville, Susan Forrest and husband Randy of Seneca. Grandchildren surviving include Hannah Jordan, Zechariah Lemke, Benjamin and Claire Warner, Brandon and Preston Forrest. Siblings surviving include: brothers Donald Strauser and his wife Beverly, Ronald Strauser, Frederick Strauser and his wife Jane, Richard Strauser and his wife Alice, Russell Strauser and his wife Joan, sisters Joy Himes and her husband Wayne and Charlotte McCoy. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Josephine Plyler Strauser, stepmother Margaret Glinkerman and stepbrother Carl Glinkerman.
Family and friends will be received on Monday July 29, 2013, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 30, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Michael Church in Fryburg with Rev. David Poulson of St. Anthony Church in Cambridge Springs Officiating.
Interment will be held at St. Michael Cemetery following the mass.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the St. Michael Food Pantry of Northern Clarion County.
