Robert L. O'Neil

Robert L. O’Neil age 84, of Venus, passed Wednesday morning May 11, 2011.

 

Born March 15, 1927 in Oil City, he  was the son of the late Lester and Nina Knight O'Neil.

 

Mr. O'Neil was a lifelong resident of the Venus area.

 

He graduated from Cranberry High School in 1945. 

 

He was married Sep. 23, 1946 to Alice R. Paup O'Neil who preceded him in death on January 12, 2005.

 

Mr. O'Neil worked at Penzoil, Agway, he was a dairy farmer, and also a bus driver for the Cranberry School District.

 

Mr. O'Neil was of the Christian Faith.

 

He is survived by four sons and two daughters: Susan Morrison and her husband Timothy of Venus and Florida; R. Scott O’Neil and wife Janet of Las Vegas and Erie; David K. O’Neil and his wife Gail of Oil City; Patti Jo Campbell of Erie; Curtis E. O’Neil of Warren; Kevin E. O’Neil and his wife Jamie of Emlenton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and  17  great-grandchildren, and two brothers Howard and Ray. A special friend of the family Rita VanDyke also survives.

 

He was preceded in death his parents and wife. Also preceding him in death by 2 sisters: Kate Davis and Grace Smith, a brother Walter and sister-in-law Sandy O'Neil.

 

Friends will be received  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg. 

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 14, 2011, in the Faller Funeral Home Inc. Fryburg, Pastor Dennis Weaver and Pastor Richard Tygert, pastors of Christ Fellowship Church officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Star Cemetery, Ninevah,  following the services.

 

The family suggests memorials be made to Christ Fellowship Church, 2305 Old State Road, Venus PA 16364, or the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Rd., Clarion, PA 16214.
