Richard “Dick” M. Webb, 84, of the Shippenville area, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at his home.
Born on February 20, 1932 in Shippenville he was the son of Harold and Thelma Haun Webb.
Dick graduated from Shippenville High School.
He was married on November 20, 1981 to Ruth Maxine Lowry Davis Webb who survives.
Dick was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a 4th Degree Knight at St. Patricks Church in Franklin.
Dick was a union Welder for most of his working life, and he retired as the Maintenance Supervisor at the Venango County Vo-Tech.
In his free time Dick enjoyed woodworking and he could be found spending many hours working on projects for all of his family.
He was also a member of the Oil City Moose.
Dick is survived by his wife Maxine, his children Richard Lee Webb of Oil City and Betsy Webb of Oil City. Also surviving are step-children Ken Davis and his wife Becky of Franklin, and Paula Krizon and her husband Clyde of Pfafftown NC. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings Ruth Aaron of Youngstown OH, Gail Webb of Anderson IN, and John Webb of Erie, PA. Also surviving is his childhood friend Herb Lechner of Shippenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David W. Webb, a sister Sally, and brothers Phillip and Ralph.
As per his request there will be no public visitation. Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg will be caring for the family.
Mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, with Rev. D.G. Davis III Pastor of St. Michael Church presiding. Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the Mass.
Memorials in Dick's honor may be made to St. Michael Church.
