Richard Leroy Howe, age 87, died June 19,2016 in his home in Carrollton TX. He was born in Dry Prong LA, the son of Leroy Howe and Phenie ( Wheat )Howe who preceded him in death along with two of his sons.
Richard attended, Roosevelt Wilson High School, Nutter Fort, WV. He served in the army and was stationed in Japan as part of the “Army of Occupation”. He became an apprentice glass cutter under his father, and then later an inspector, and a foreman, and then in sales. He resided in Greensburg , PA for over 30 years. After retiring he drove school bus for Greensburg Area Schools.
Richard moved to Texas in the late 90’s and worked part time for St Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church in maintenance, and drove school bus for Cypress ISD in Houston TX.
Richard was a Past Master of the Oldest Masonic Lodge in the Northwest Territory, in Vincennes, Indiana. He was a member of St Catherine of Siena Church in Carrollton TX. Richard enjoyed camping, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by four sons and a daughter and their families in Indiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania.
In addition to his wife, Alma (Wagner) Howe , he is also survived by her four children and their families in Texas and Washington.
Friends will be received at Faller Funeral Home in Fryburg, PA. for viewing on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 2-4 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 4:30 pm in the funeral home with Rev. D.G. Davis III Pastor of St. Michael Church presiding. Clarion Masonic Lodge 277 will hold a masonic service at 5:00 pm in the funeral home on Monday, June 27, 2016.
