Phyllis Jean Poulain, 84, formerly of Lake Lucy passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Shippenville Nursing and Rehab after a period of declining health.
Born on April 15, 1935 in Tylersburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Allene Richardson Poulain.
Phyllis was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from North Clarion High School in 1953. Phyllis lived with her grandmother Anna Poulain before moving in with her aunt and uncle Cecillia (Dede) and Orville (Buss) Kapp who adopted her. She worked as a housekeeper for many years. Phyllis was a member of the United Evangelical Church in Venus.
Phyllis is survived by her sister Joanne Burdette of New Castle and two nieces Sherry Emanuel and Michelle Burdette, and one great-nephew Coury Emanuel all of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Harry Poulain, a brother-in-law Donald Burdette, and her adopted parents Buss and Dede Kapp.
Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 10 am to 11 am.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in the funeral home with Rev. Richard Kightlinger, Pastor of United Evangelical Church in Venus presiding.
Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Phyllis's honor may be made to the United Evangelical Church in Venus or Clarion-Forest VNA.
