Paul Sonoski Obituary

Paul "Joe" Sonoski, 75, of Shippenville, passed away January 2, 2011 following an extended illness.

 
Born August 15, 1935 in Oil City, he was the son of Joseph S. and Anna Siegel Sonoski who preceded him in death.
 
Mr. Sonoski attended Shippenville High School.
 
He was married to Clara L. Guth on June 27, 1959 at St. Michael Church by Msgr. Francis Theobald and she survives.
 
Mr. Sonoski served in the US Army from 1956-1958. He served 18 months in Stuttgart, Germany with 32nd Transportation Co.
 
Mr. Sonoski was in the trucking business for over forty years as owner of Sonoski Trucking Company. He especially loved Mack Trucks, having attained the milestone of over 1,000,000 miles on his 1992 before he became ill.
 
Mr. Sonoski was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg and the Fryburg Sportsman's Club.
 
He is survived by his wife, and a son Joseph Sonoski and his wife Laurie of Johnstown. Also surviving is a brother Thomas Sonoski of Euless, TX. Two grandsons, Eric Pastor of Clarion and Chris Pastor of Syracuse Utah also survive. Four great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren also survive.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Debora A Pastor on December 21, 2007. A sister Dorothy Kline, brother-in-law Bill Kline and a niece Kerry Kline also preceded him in death.
 
There will be no public visitation. Funeral service will be celebrated at 10 am Friday January 7, 2011 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, with Rev. Chris Hamlett, pastor as the celebrant. 
 
Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Msgr. Francis Theobald Fund at St. Michael Church in Fryburg.
