Norman Seigworth Obituary

Norman D. (Pat) Seigworth, 98, of Lickingville passed away February 13, 2013, at UPMC Northwest after a brief illness.

Born on June 11, 1914 in Lickingville he was the son of Sam and Lucy Sandrock Seigworth.

Pat was married on May 8, 1940 to Helen Zuck Seigworth in a double wedding with Lee and Betty Sandrock Daum by Rev. Rueckwald Pastor of Venus Lutheran Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe with the 243 Combat Engineers and was a Staff Sergeant.

Pat and his brother Howard (Butch) owned and operated Seigworth Brothers Store in Lickingville until his brother retired.  After his brothers retirement Pat and his wife Helen took over the operation of the store.  Pat was in business for 42 years and served as Post Master of Lickingville for 10 years until his retirement in 1977.

He loved gardening, hunting and loved to travel with his wife.  Together had ventured through all the states, visited sites overseas and took several cruises.  Pat also loved crafts, making many beautiful hooked rugs and wall hangings.  He and his wife spent winters in St. Cloud FL, and enjoyed playing cards, golfing and shuffling with their many friends.

Pat was a devout member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where he served on many committees and was a trustee for many years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Terry Lee Seigworth of Erie, a granddaughter Tracy Fedek and her husband Matt of Erie, and a great-grandson Dylan Fedek of Erie.  He is also survived by many close nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Lucy Sandrock Seigworth, a son Larry Seigworth and brothers Harry and Howard (Butch) Seigworth.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11am in the funeral home with Rev. Seth McPherson, Pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church presiding.

Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery.
