Nettie L. (Silvis) (Boyd) Stephey

Nettie L. Silvis (Boyd) Stephey, 95 years young, of North East, PA formerly of Fawn Acres, Tionesta, passed away June 30, 2015 at the LeCom Senior Living Center in Erie, PA.

Born on June 9, 1920 in Porkey, PA she was the daughter of David and Margaret Blauser Silvis.

She married Henry Boyd on April 27, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 1, 1982. On January 13, 1993 she was married to H. Arthur Stephey who preceded her in death on April 3, 2002.

Nettie was a resident of Forest and Clarion Counties most of her life. She worked as a cook at the Knotty Pine and Harrington's Restaurant in Tionesta, Edna's Place in Newmansville and the Checkerboard in Venus. She was well know for her baking and was often referred to as “The Pie Lady”

She attended the Methodist Church in Newmansville. Nettie was also a Breast Cancer survivor.

Nettie is survived by a daughter Joanne Brown and her husband Donald of North East, PA and a son William (Bill) Boyd and his wife Bonnie of Reno, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Bill Dalrymple of Erie, Ret Dalrymple of North East, Bob Dalrymple of Erie and Billy Boyd; six great-grandchildren: Jenny, Willie, Cody, Jared, David, and Mitchell; and six great-great-grandchildren: Zane, Hannah, Ryeleigh, Dillon, Ian and Alec. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Nettie was preceded in death by her four brothers: Edward, George, Perry and Russell Silvis; and two sisters Gladys Robshaw and Lewanda Carbaugh.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on July 3, 2015 from 2-4pm. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on July 3, 2015 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg, with Rev. Jonathan Bell Pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Tionesta, presiding.

Interment will be in the Amity Lutheran Cemetery in Newmansville.
