Michael L. Black Sr., 59, of Marble passed away February 26, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
Born on May 17, 1955 in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Gordon and Wilma Bliven Black.
Michael worked in the oil fields of Texas, a mechanic for William Slater Used Cars, when he moved to this area he first worked for Petrolium Consulting of Tionesta and then for HDI in Marienville. In his free time he enjoyed trips to the casino and attending car shows.
Michael is survived by his ex-wife Olive Jordan and their sons: Michael Black Jr. and wife Robin of Cranberry; Grant Black and companion Megan Dean of Marble; Gordon Black and companion Breanne Glass of Venus. Grandchildren surviving include: R.J., Devin, Grace, Hemi, Carley, and one grandchild due in September. Also surviving are a sister Sally Clark and husband Ted; a sister Debra Kline and husband Butch; a brother Milton Black and wife Jan; and a brother Merritt Black and wife Vicki.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Timothy; and a sister Paula Slater.
Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg, with Rev. Richard Kightlinger, Pastor of The Venus United Evangelical Church presiding. Interment will be in the Scotch Hill Union Cemetery following the service.
Memorials in Michael's honor may be made to a charity of ones choice.
