Obituary

Mary Lee Lehman, 89 of Tionesta passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Titusville Hospital after a sudden illness.

 

Born on November 9, 1933 in Starr PA she was the daughter of Floyd and Ruth Dickrager Zuendel

 

Mary Lee attended Starr Elementary School on German Hill and then she graduated from Tionesta High School in 1952.

 

On December 22, 1951 she was married to Bert W. Lehman at the Washington Methodist Church. Bert preceded her in death on February 13, 2019.

 

Mary Lee was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City and also served as their church secretary.

 

She and her husband ran Tionesta Gas Company for many years, she also worked at the Tionesta Super Duper, served as Tionesta Boro manager, and finished her career as a secretary at Koppers in Marble.

 

Mary Lee loved animals, enjoyed planting and taking care of her flowers, knitting, and she was also an avid reader. She was a member of the Forest County Historical Society.

 

Mary Lee is survived by her children: R. Lance Lehman and wife Susan of Tionesta and Rebecca (Becki) Weaver and husband Jody P. of Fryburg. Two granddaughters Laurie E. Weaver and Lindsie J. Green and husband Evan of Westminster MD; also surviving are twin great-grandsons Conner and Bennett Green. A sister-in-law Evelyn Smith of Salem OH, a brother-in-law Donald Burig of Spokane Washington and also numerous nieces and nephews survive. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mary Lee's caregiver Leah Wagner.

 

Mary Lee was the last surviving member of her family. Her siblings: Margaret Rumbaugh, Jeane Mealy, Carl Zuendel, Virginia Patrick and Beatrice Burig preceded her in death. .

 

As per her request there will be no public visitation. The family is being cared for by Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 28, 2023 at the Riverside Cemetery in Tionesta with Michael Parish officiating.

 

Memorials in her name may be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church, Forest County Historical Society or a charity of one's choice.
