M. Ann (Irwin) Kapp

M. Ann Kapp, 77, formerly of Marble, passed away November 11, 2013 at Sugar Creek Station Nursing Home.

Born on July 2, 1936 in Cranberry, she was the daughter of Arch R. and Grace Weaver Irwin.

Ann raised her family in Marble and was employed at Integra Bank for 22 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus, PA and volunteered for many years at the Clarion Hospital.

She was married on November 24, 1956 to Robert Paul Kapp, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1993. She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the country and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She always had a special place in her heart for her beloved dachshunds.

She is survived by her two sons: Michael I. Kapp and his wife Sherri of Knox and Robert L. Kapp and his wife Sandi of Cowansville; five grandchildren, Bradley and Jordan Kapp of Knox, and Carl and Mike DeBacco and Alexis (DeBacco) Companion of Cowansville and two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Gia. Also surviving is her sister, Mary Shaffer of Hermitage; brother-in-laws Robert Morrison of Rockland and Donald Kapp and wife Joyce of Venus; sister-in-laws Barbara Kapp of Oil City, and Ruth Kapp of Venus. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis (Ruth) Morrison and three brother-in-laws, William Shaffer, Richard Kapp, and Edward Kapp. A special friend Arvin Ellis also preceded her in death.

As per her request there will be no public visitation. Family and friends will be received at her funeral service to be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 am in Faith Lutheran Church in Venus with Rev. John A. Wood pastor, presiding.

A private interment will be conducted at Venus Cemetery following the service.

The family suggests memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church or the Shippenville-Elk Ambulance and Fire Department.
