Lois I (Beary) McWilliams

Lois I. Beary McWilliams, 93, of Venus, passed away November 13, 2011.

 

Born on July 3, 1918 on the family farm in Marble, she was the daughter of Arley D. and Ione Kapp Beary.

 

Lois was a life long resident of the Marble and Venus area.

 

She was a graduate of Shippenville High School.

 

She was married in July 1938 to Thomas R. McWilliams who preceded her in death on August 5, 1978.

 

Lois was a life long member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.

 

She was a homemaker and for many years she enjoyed volunteering her time at the American Cancer Society in Oil City, and lending a hand at the Pinegrove Volunteer Fire Department dinners.  Lois and her husband enjoyed square dancing and she also enjoyed sewing.

 

Lois is survived by a son Richard E. McWilliams and his wife Donna of Venus and a daughter Donna I. Carley and special friend Richard Jamieson of Venus.  Grandchildren Donald R. Carley and wife Michelle of North Canton, OH and Shawn R. McWilliams and wife Emily of Venus; and Great-grandchildren Matthew and Sarah Carley both of North Canton, OH and Ashlyn McWilliams of Venus; a brother Gerald Beary and his wife JoAnn of Oil City and sister-in-law Helen Beary of Venus also survive.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, in August 2001 a son-in-law Richard D. Carley and a brother Russell Beary of Venus.

 

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc in Fryburg. 

 

Funeral services be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in Faith Lutheran Church in Venus with the Rev. John A. Wood pastor, as the celebrant.

 

Burial will follow in the Venus Cemetery.

 

The family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society or Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.
