Kathleen A. Kapp, 90, of Golden Living in Oil City formerly of Venus passed away at UPMC Northwest in Seneca on December 2, 2011.
Born September 19, 1921 in Venus, she was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Stella M. Korb Kapp.
Kathleen was born on the family farm in Venus and resided there until moving to Oil City in 1996.
She attended Springer Elementary School, graduated from Knox High School and from Clarion University. Kathleen taught elementary schools in Pinegrove Twp. for four years. The schools she taught at included the Kapp, Pine Hill and Beck Schools. She also worked at Mong Dairy in Seneca for 40 years.
Kathleen was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.
She is survived two sisters: Grace V. Kapp of Oil City and Janet Whitmire and husband John of Oil City. A brother-in-law Ed Keverline of Cleveland, five nieces, eight nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends Judy Slater and her daughters Jody Sziraky and Tracy Twiest also survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Don W. Kapp, a brother Ned Kapp and his wife Garnet, a sister Martha Karns and her husband Dean and a sister Shirley Keverline.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Monday, December 5, 2011at Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg, with Rev. John A. Wood, Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus officiating.
Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery following the service.
The family suggests memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church or a charity of ones choice.
