JoAnn M. Rapp, 72, of RD Tionesta, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 3, 2011, at her home.
Born January 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Beatrice Gabler Siegel.
She was married on September 12, 1959, to Gerald F. Rapp who preceded her in death on July 8, 1985.
JoAnn was a resident of the Strobleton area for many years. Over the years she had worked at various places in the area including: a cleaning business for 18 years, CVS, New Process in Warren and she was an operator on the old Venus Telephone system.
She was a member of St. Michael Church and the Rosary Society and also Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.
JoAnn is survived by Bob and Paul Rapp who she and her husband had raised since age 13 and 14. Four brothers surviving are: Bill, Edward, Raymond, and Thomas. Six sisters surviving include: Betty Eltringham, Mary Eisenman, Ruth Rapp, Louise Strotman, Judy Hoover, and Sharron Grigsby. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and two very close friends Vickey and Jennifer Kunselman and her beloved pet dog Pookey.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Frank.
There will be no public visitation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, March 7, 2011 in St. Michael Church, Fryburg with Rev. Chris Hammlett, Pastor, presiding.
Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Fryburg.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or St. Michael Church.
