Jeanette Long Obituary

Jeannette Allison Long, 25, of Athens, Tennessee, formerly of Oil City, PA. unexpectedly passed away January 21, 2015.

Jeannette was born at home in Tionesta, June 23, 1989, the daughter of Gregory T. Long and Deborah Desmond Long.  The family relocated to Tennessee and Jeannette graduated from McMinn County High School May 19, 2007 with Academic Honors and the recipient of the Mattie Shipley Price Award for excellence in English.

Jeannette's love of animals knew no bounds. Throughout her life she was surrounded by animals of all kinds.  She trained dogs for one of the leading pet stores and lived to ride horses.  Her favorite horse was Red,  a gelding that stole the heart of the entire family.  Watching Jeannette ride Red was an experience that we will always treasure.  Jeannette's best four legged friend was Cash, her devoted Australian Shepherd who now resides with Jeannette's mother.

Jeannette is survived by her parents, Gregory Long of Titusville and Deborah Desmond of Fryburg, sister, Nicole Caudillo and husband Sean of Oregon, brother, Charles Long of Florida, and sisters Elizabeth Long and fiance Bobby Osten of Franklin and Cassandra Long of Florida.  She is also survived by nieces Ally and Evie Caudillo, and Mackenzie Drake and nephew Lane Long.  Jeannette was survived by her paternal Grandmother, Penny Long, by only hours.

Family and friends will be received from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Monday, February 2, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Fryburg, followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 for Jeannette and her grandmother Penny who passed away the next morning.  Interment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
