James C. Wilson, Jr. ,80, of Venus, passed away January 1, 2011 at home following an extended illness.
Born March 6, 1930 in Venus, he was the son of James C. and Anne Wilson who preceded him in death.
Mr. Wilson graduated from in Shippenville High School in 1950.
He was married to Florence Thompson on September 30, 1950 and she survives.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.
He owned and drove log truck for most of his life. Mr. Wilson was an avid Harley rider and enjoyed taking rides with his wife all over the state of Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Fire Police Captain for many years. He was also a member of the Oil City Cycle Club and Keystone Wings.
He is survived by his wife, son Bruce E. Wilson and wife Marsha of Venus and son Jeffery L. Wilson and wife Betty of Monroe, NC. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren surviving are: Stacey Campbell, husband Bill and children Riley and Mason all of New Bethlehem; Tonya Mooney and husband Brian of Knox; Melanie Ward, husband Cameron and son Peyton of Marble; Josh Wilson, wife Erin and daughter Monica of Venus who served as primary care givers; Mindy Beichner, husband Josh and children Issabell and Ethan of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin granddaughters.
Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Tuesday January 4, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am Wednesday January 5, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, Venus, with Rev. John A. Wood, pastor as the celebrant.
Interment will follow in Venus Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made Clarion-Forest VNA in Knox or Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.
