James J. "Chick" Eisenman, 76, of Strobleton, passed away December 21, 2012 at after short illness.
Born on Mothers Day, May 11, 1936 in Marble he was the son of James G. and Katherine Cook Eisenman.
Jim attended St. Michael Catholic Grade School and later Farmington High School.
On August 8, 1964 he was married to the former Gloria A. Licht at St. Michael Church.
He was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.
Jim enlisted in US Army and served as a medic in Guam from 1959 to 1962.
Jim worked for Fulton Brothers Lumber Company as a lumberjack for 30 years.
He was an outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed completing word search puzzles, raising basset hounds, and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim always enjoyed family cookouts and he served as the family patriarch for the family reunions. He also enjoyed going to breakfast with his brothers and nephews. Jim was an excellent story teller and enjoyed making people laugh.
Jim was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman's Club, the PNA Club in Oil City, the VFW Clarion, and the Moose in Clarion
He is survived by his wife Gloria and their children: Lori Schill and husband Dan of Venus; Lisa Fasenmyer of Oil City; James "Butch" Eisenman Jr. and girlfriend Shelli of Strobleton. Grandchildren surviving include: Bruce and Matt Schill; and Marcus, Chelsea, Chance, and Chandler Chase. James was also anticipating the birth of his first two great-grandchildren. Siblings that survive Jim are brother Walter Eisenman and wife Mary of Tionesta; brother Jeffery Eisenman and wife Linda of Marble; brother-in-law Jim Mohr of Fredrick MD, Norman Hill of Hagerstown MD, sister-in-law Nancy Elder of Knox.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George and sisters Sarah Silvis, Beatrice Mohr, Mary Hill, and Kathy Eisenman.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday December 27, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 28, 2012 at 10am in St. Michael Church in Fryburg.
Interment will be Cedarview Memorial Park in Fisher following the Mass.
Memorials in Jim's name may be made to the St. Michael Church Food Pantry.
