James H. Ditz

     James H. Ditz, age 85 of Lake Lucy Road, Tionesta, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health.

     Born December 7, 1938 in Washington Township, Clarion County, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Edna Smrekar Ditz.

     He was a 1956 graduate of North Clarion High School and was a member of the St. Michael Church in Fryburg.  He also served in the United States Army.

     Jim retired from Astro Homes and Castle Homes and enjoyed dirt track and NASCAR racing, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends.

     He is survived by two brothers: Bill Ditz of Fryburg and Paul (Mary) Ditz of Shippenville; sister, Peg Zacherl, of Lake Lucy Road, Tionesta, and many nieces and nephews.

    Jim is also survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Lois (Gourley) Delucia, of Franklin, and her family.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Leonard; sister-in-law, Freda Ditz, and a brother-in-law, Mike Zacherl.

     Family and friends will be received from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Faller/Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 19200 Route 208, Fryburg.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday in the St. Michael Church, 18765 Route 208, Fryburg. 

     Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery.
