Helen L Licht

Helen L. Licht, 76, of the Strobleton area, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a brief illness. She was a resident of the Golden Living Center of Clarion for the past 4 years. 

 

Born in Strobleton on August 19, 1934 she was the daughter of Maurice and Catherine Hahn Licht who preceded her in death. 

 

She was a caregiver for many families in the tri-state area. Although she never married, many area children considered her a "Mother". 

 

She was a life long member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg. She was also a member of the VFW, the Moose, VFW Auxiliary, and also the American Legion Auxiliary.

 

She is survived by 2 brothers: Clyde and wife Carole of Venus, and Charles “Dick” and wife Chelsea of Ahrensville. Also surviving are 2 sisters: Rose Swonger of Pine City, and Gloria Eisenman and husband James of Strobleton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Jun, Clete, and Russell; sisters: Doris Mock, Grace Lenhart, Mary Catherine “Kay” Licht .

 

Friends and family will be received from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg. Parish vigil service will be conducted at 3:45pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the funeral home. Mass of a Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, with Rev. Chris Hamlett pastor, as the presiding. Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the mass.

The family suggests memorial be made to Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 61, Fryburg, PA 16326.
