Gloria J (Donato) Barnes

Gloria J. Barnes, 76, of West Hickory passed away peacefully on March 26, 2018 at 1:30pm surrounded by her loving family; following an extended illness.

Born on October 4, 1941 in West Hickory, PA she was the daughter of Joseph and Ella Mae Stevenson Donato.

Gloria attended West Hickory School and West Forest School.

On January 18, 1958 she was married to Ronald Barnes Sr. by Rev Earp in Fertigs, PA.

Gloria worked for GG Greens of Warren, Lorrangers of Warren, Evenflo of Tionesta and Penn Filters of West Hickory.

When she was not working Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family. She was well know for her spaghetti and meatballs and she also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Casino.

Gloria is survived by her Loving husband Ronald L. Banes Sr. and their children: Rhonda Shawley and husband Wayne of Oil City, Donna So and husband Danny of Chicago IL, Shirley Fryman and fiancee Jeff of Blairsville, Ronald L. Barnes Jr. of Erie, Donald (Yac) Barnes and wife Jane of Canfield OH, Lonnie (Joe) Barnes and wife Stacy of Tionesta, Kari Prelog and husband Tim of West Hickory, and Shelli Kuntz of West Hickory. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, eleven great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-granddaughters. Siblings surviving include Beverly (Sis) Taylor and husband Donald of MS, Frank Donato and wife Karen of West Hickory, Gladys Hannah and husband Roger of West Hickory, Ann Wyer of Perry OH, Danny Donato and wife Barb of MI, Fred Donato and wife Sandy of East Hickory, Cora Alexander and husband Chris of NC, and Rosemarie Sanders and husband Chet of AL. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Steve Barnes,  a grandson Joshua Barnes, two brothers Anthony and James Donato and a son-in-law Joshua Kuntz. 

A celebration of their 60 years of marriage was given by their loving family and friends in January.

As per her request there will be no public visitation. The family is being cared for by Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
