Forrest Mealy Obituary
Forrest E. Mealy, 95, of Frills Corners, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Shippenville.
Born on April 7, 1918 in Kellettville he was the son of Merl and Emma Wagner Mealy.
He attended the Washington School.
On May 7, 1940 he was married to the former Doris Ruth Everhart Mealy who survives. He and Doris had celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Forrest was a self-employed carpenter for most of his life and was a well known home builder in the Fryburg and Tionesta areas. In his early years he also drove truck for A.P. Weaver and Sons in Fryburg. Forrest took great pride in his wood working projects and he had a love of gardening.
Forrest is survived by his wife and a daughter Lou Ann Etzel and her husband Keith of Shippenville, PA. He is also survived by a brother Clarence Mealy of Wolfs Corners, a sister Lulu Martin of Bethany Beach DE, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by three brothers: Harvey, Alan, and Raymond Mealy.
As per his request there will be no public visitation. A funeral service for his family and close friends will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Andy Blystone, pastor of the Tionesta Tylersburg Charge presiding.
Interment will be in the Washington Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donation be made to the Washington Church Cemetery Association, 2490 Lake Lucy Rd., Tionesta, PA 16353 for the perpetual care fund.
