Esther L. (Siegel) Vogelbacher

Esther L. Vogelbacher, 71, of Fryburg, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 24, 2016 at her home.

Born on March 10, 1945 in Strobleton, PA, she was the daughter of Leo and Clara McCauley Siegel.

Graduate of North Clarion High School.

She was married to John L. Vogelbacher who preceded her in death on December 28, 2011.

Esther was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg

Esther was a house keeper for the Fuellhart Family in Crown for many years.

She enjoyed reading and keeping in touch with her family and friends on her Kindle.

Esther is survived her four daughters: Chris Lauer and her husband Ray of Fryburg, Julie Smerkar and her husband Doug of Fryburg, Wendy Lauer and her husband Ken of Lucinda, and Jamie Vogelbacher of Knox. Esther also had nine grandchildren who survive: Amy Baumcratz and her husband Matt, Lacey Wolbert and her husband Shawn, Cody Lauer, Darla Smerkar, Shane Smerkar, Mathias Smerkar and his wife Jenna, Tyler Lauer and his wife Britney, Estee Lauer and her fiance Jade Burka. Great-grandchildren surviving include Kaylee and Kaden Baumcratz and Jayen Burka.

Siblings surviving include a brother Russ Siegel and his wife Jill, a sister Lois Mays, a sister Patty Hackett, a sister-in-law Martha Siegel, a brother-in-law Jerry Vogelbacher and his wife MaryAnn and a sister-in-law Dorothy Schmader and her husband Gene. She is also survived by her much loved puppy dog Josie.

She was preceded in death by an infant grandson Tony Lauer, her brothers Raymond and Ralph (Mouse) Siegel, a brother-in-law John Mays, and a sister-in-law Patricia Loll.

Faller Funeral Home Inc. in Fryburg will be caring for the family.

There will not be a public visitation.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church in Fryburg with the Rev. D.G. Davis III, pastor presiding.  Inurnment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the St. Michael Food Bank of Northwestern Clarion County.
