Elizabeth “Betty” Cyphert, 91, of Lake Lucy passed away on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.
Born on May 7, 1935, in Lucinda, she was the youngest child of Edward and Adelaide (Fascenmyer) Schill, and the last surviving member of her family. She graduated from St. Joseph School.
On Aug. 18, 1956, she was married to Stanley “John” Cyphert who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2023.
In her younger years, she worked for Landers General Store and later at Crater Evenflo in addition to raising her family. Betty was past president of the St. Michaels Rosery Society, helping with quilting, baking, and various church functions. She and her husband also owned The Marble Shoot restaurant in Marble in the early 90’s.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker. Anyone who knew Betty knew to have pie options available after dinner. Her and her husband enjoyed square dancing, traveling, and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. In her later years she enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center and Fryburg Sportsman’s Club as well as puzzling.
She is survived by her sons: Dennis and Cynthia Cyphert of Lake Lucy, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Cyphert of Oil City, Daniel Cyphert of Florida, Thomas and Patti Cyphert of Tionesta, and Troy and Jenny Cyphert of Franklin. She is survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Timothy and a grandson Matthew, her parents and six siblings, Augustine Schill, Cletus Schill Sr., Eulalia Schill, Jessica Becker, Stanley Schill, and Velma Dale.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Faller/Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 19200 Route 208, Fryburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the St. Michael Church, 18765 Route 208, Fryburg. Father Brandon Kleckner will serve as celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery.
