Eleanor Jane (Botzer) Means

Eleanor J. Botzer Means, age 95, of Westmorland Manor formerly of  Newmansville, passed away on June 4, 2013 after a brief period of declining health.

Born July 5, 1917 in New Kensington, PA, she was the daughter of Frank A. and Bessie B. Gathers Botzer.

Eleanor lived in New Kensington for many years and graduated from New Kensington High School in 1935.   

She worked at Alcoa for 36 years in specialty sales. 

Eleanor was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Kensington for many years.  She moved to the Tionesta area in 1975.           

On Aug. 19, 1940 Eleanor was married to William F. Means who preceded her in death on July 29, 1986.

Eleanor is survived by two sons: William and his wife Virginia of Apollo, and Eugene and his wife Judy of Hickory NC; and also a daughter Kathleen A. Soules and her husband John Henry of Arnold.  Also surviving is of Sweckly, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded by her parents, her husband, a brother Edgar, a sister Mary Catherine Crain and an infant sister Dorothy.

As per her request there will be no public visitation.  The family is being cared for by Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg, PA.
