Elaine A (Slike) Neal

Elaine A. Slike Neal, of Shippenville passed away June 29, 2014 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born on June 13, 1947 in Shippenville she was the daughter of Andrew and Martha Schill Slike.

Elaine graduated from Clarion Area High School.

On September 16, 1967 she was married to James E. Neal who survives.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion, PA.

Elaine worked as a Home Interior and Gifts Consultant for 17 years and also a companion aide for Clarion-Forest VNA.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her dogs: Daisy, Maggy, and Chloe and her cats Tecumsen, Bob and Lilly.

Elaine is survived by her husband James and their children: James Jay Neal and his wife Stacy of Fort Myers, FL; Becky A Neal of Strattenville; and Hillary A. Truitt and her husband Steven of Shippenville. Three Grandchildren Mitchell, Aiden and Allison also survive. Surviving siblings include a sister Rose Ann Lauer, a sister Lucille Lutz and her husband Harry, a brother Irvin Slike and his wife Judy, a sister Genevieve Selker and her husband John, and a sister Victoria Ferringer and her husband Roy. Numerous nieces and nephews and her caretaker and companion Sue Meier and her husband John also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Edward and Andrew, and sisters Edna, Lois, Mary and Marguerite.

As per her request there will be no public visitations.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday August 9, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion, PA with Rev. B. LaMounte "Monty" Sayers pastor presiding.
