Edward L. Dashner Sr., 71 of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Born September 17, 1939 he was the son of the late Alvie and Corona Bickle Dashner.
He was married on June 17, 1962 to the former Nancy Taft who survives.
Mr. Dashner worked in the lumber industry until he became disabled.
He attended the Church of God in Rocky Grove, PA.
Mr. Dashner enjoyed watching wrestling, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Dashner is survived by his six children: Julie Sollinger and her husband John of Cranberry; Edward L. Dashner Jr. of North Carolina; Connie Dashner and companion Ed Goodman of Franklin; Alvie Dashner and is wife Tammy of Franklin; Julia "JJ" Dashner of Oil City; and John Dashner of Oil City. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dashner was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Richard Allen Dashner, a great-grandson Lucas Garich, a daughter-in-law Connie Dashner, and a brother Bill Dashner.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc in Fryburg.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made a charity of one's choice.
