Edward J. Barr, 74, of Cranberry, passed away September 9, 2012 after a brief illness.
Born on May 1, 1938 in Washington Twp. in Clarion County he was the son of the late William W. and Emma P Siegel Barr.
He was a graduate of North Clarion High School in 1956. He served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963 and earned the rank of Private.
On July 30, 1964 in Seoul, Korea he was married to the former Hi Soon Kang who survives.
Edward was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.
Edward worked as a machinist at General Electric in Cleveland until his retirement in 1998.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing, and was a member of the NRA for many years.
Edward is survived by his wife, their daughter Veronica Jones and her husband Kyle of California and grandchildren Leona and William Moses Jones both of California. Also surviving a brother Bob Barr and wife Maxine of Twinsburg, OH; a brother-in-law Pock Kang and his wife Myngja of Cleveland and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Ochs, and brothers William and Donald.
Visitation will be held at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 7-9pm.
A Traditional Latin Requiem will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg with Rev. David Poulson pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Cambridge Springs, as the celebrant.
Interment with full military honors accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Fryburg.
