Duane V Schmader

Duane “Butch” V. Schmader, 74, of Leeper passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019 as the result of an automobile accident.

Born on May 12, 1945 in Huefner he was the son of Bernard and Marie Weaver Schmader.

He was married on November 28, 1975 to Melinda Williams Schmader and she survives.

Butch retired from Cook Forest State Park where he was a carpenter. When not working he enjoyed wood working motorcycle, hunting, and he enjoyed spending time in the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Melinda and children: Nanette Schmader of Conway SC; Gretta Mazzarella and husband Mathew of Raeford NC; Duane Schmader Jr. of Leeper; Joseph Schmader and wife Mary of Leeper. Grandchildren surviving include: Zachary, Amanda, Steven, and Raechel; great-grandchildren surviving include: Jonah, Lucas, Michael, Aryianna, Gabriel. Siblings surviving include: Don Schmader and wife Ann of Scotch Hill, George Schmader and wife Jane of Lucinda, Bernard Schmader and wife Margaret of Millmont, and Faye Larrow of Lucinda. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Lesley Schmader-Black, and a brother-in-law Doug Larrow.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1pm to 6pm.
