Dorothy C. Pfendler, 92, formerly of Fryburg, passed away November 24, 2012 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.
Born on July 1, 1920 in Fryburg she was the daughter of Edward M and Christina M. Guth Lauer
On June 12, 1940 she was married to Norman J. Pfendler who preceded her in death on December 1, 1987.
Dorothy was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.
She was a homemaker most of her life but was also employed at Emerson's Diner and Owen Illinois Glass Plant. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and creating many quilts.
Dorothy is survived by two sons: Norman L. Pfendler and his wife Bonnie of Rocky Grove, and Leo E. Pfendler and his wife Sherry of Drummond, MT; and two daughters: Darlene Hartle and husband Robert of Miola, Jean Gates and husband Paul of Jefferson MD. Also surviving are a son-in-law David Weaver of Marble, a daughter-in-law Cathy Pfendler of Berwick, son-in-law Roger Allio, brothers: Ralph Lauer and wife Dolores and Charles Lauer and wife Sally all of Michigan. 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son David Pfendler, daughters Dorothy Weaver and Deborah Allio, a son-in-law Michael Young, a daughter-in-law Judith Pfendler, a great-grandchild Seth Weaver, brothers: Edward (Pete), Paul, Francis (Buddy), Dan, John, Thomas, Dave; and three sisters: Alice Niederriter, Louise Zacherl, and Clara Zacherl.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.
Mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 10am at St. Michael Church in Fryburg with Rev. D.G. Davis III as the celebrant. Due to the renovation project in the church the mass will be held in the school. Interment will follow in the St. Michael Church Cemetery.
