Donald W. Hargenrader, 83, a lifelong resident of Marble passed away February 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on February 22, 1933 in Marble, he was the son of the late William S. and Mary Schmader Hargenrader.
He attended St. Michael School in Fryburg.
On May 28, 1955 Donald was married to the former M. Joanne Zacherl Hargenrader who survives.
He was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.
Donald was a life long dairy farmer with his brother and their sons. He also worked for Venus Telephone in the early 1960's.
Donald's greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He used his woodworking talents to make beautiful projects for all of his family members. Donald also enjoyed traveling, gardening, campfires, John Deere Tractors, and his dog Lilly.
Donald is survived by his wife Joanne and their children: Bill Hargenrader and wife Judy of Marble, Nancy Campbell and her husband John of Marble, Perry Hargenrader and his wife Pauley of Venus, John Hargenrader and companion Diane Call of Marble, Theresa Beichner and her husband Mark of Marble, Jane McCauley and her husband Tom of New Bethlehem, Donnie Hargenrader and his wife Sandi of New Wilmington, and Dan Hargenrader and his wife Carol of Cleveland OH. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and Donald's siblings: Joseph Hargenrader and his wife Marge, Peg Wolbert, Joan Graham and her husband Jr., Tip Lutz, and Janet LaCaze. In-Laws surviving include: Bernard Zacherl and his wife Gerri, Paul Zacherl and his wife Ruth, Dorothy Roth, Rose Walters and her husband Jim, Theresa Rogers and her husband Dale, and Jeanne Aquino and her husband Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws: Roy Wolbert, Randy LaCaze, Dave Lutz, John Roth, and Gerri and Dan Egan.
There will be no public visitation. Mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, with Rev. D.G. Davis III, Pastor of St. Michael Church presiding.
Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the Mass.
