D. Ruth (Everhart) Mealy

D. Ruth Mealy, 95 of Highland Oaks Shippenville, formerly of Frills Corners passed away peacefully on May 16, 2016.

Born on June 9, 1920 in Oil City she was the daughter of Charles E. and Josephine M. Everhart.

Ruth was a 1938 graduate of Farmington High School.

On May 8, 1940 Ruth was married to Forrest E. Mealy who preceded her in death on August 26, 2013. They celebrated 73 years of marriage.

She enjoyed reading, cooking, spending time with her beloved pets, and the visits from her friends while at Highland Oaks.

Ruth is survived by a daughter Lou Ann Etzel and her husband Keith of Shippenville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Forrest, brothers-in-law Clarence, Harvey, Alan, and Raymond and a sister-in-law Lulu Martin.

As per her request there will be no public visitation and interment in the Washington Church Cemetery will be private.

Memorials in Ruth's honor may be made to the Washington Church Cemetery Association, 2490 Lake Lucy Rd., Tionesta, PA 16353 for the perpetual care fund.
