Cory J. Hartzell, 28, of Venus passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2016.
Born on April 8, 1988 in Oil City and he was the son of David and Karen Lechner Hartzell.
Cory was a 2006 graduate of Venango Christian High School in Oil City.
On August 17, 2013 he was married to the former Elizabeth Turney Hartzell who survives.
Cory worked for many years as a laborer for various local companies. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and son, hunting, skate boarding and he was a member of Fryburg Sportsman's Club. Cory was a Eagle Scout and extremely proud of this accomplishment.
Cory is survived by his wife Elizabeth and their son David. Also surviving is his mother Karen Hartzell of Fryburg and brothers Daniel Smrekar of Shippenville and Brent Smrekar of Shippenville. His Grandmother Ethel Lechner of Shippenville, a great-uncle Charles L. Motter of Shippenville, his mother and father in law Vickie and Allen Flockerzi of Marienville, a brother in law Allen Flockerzi Jr. of Venus, a sister in law Vanessa Turney of Ridgeland SC, and an uncle Harold Lechner and his wife Paula of Fryburg also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father David H. Hartzell and grandfather Harold C. Lechner.
Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg, with Rev. D.G. Davis III Pastor of St. Michael Church in Fryburg presiding. Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery.
