Colleen Faller Obituary

Colleen Faller, 41, beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016,  with her husband, Evan and father-in-law Greg, at her side. Colleen was a patient at UPMC Shadyside, where she was in the midst of a valiant six-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

She was born on June 14, 1975, to Jean Madden and the late Thomas McCormick. She graduated in 1993 from Maine West High School.  She graduated from Oakton Community College in 1996.

On July 2, 2005, she married the love of her life, Evan Faller. They have two beautiful daughters, Avery Rose, born on May 15, 2007, in Sioux Falls, SD, and Rowan Kathleen, born on November 11, 2010, in Seneca, PA.

After moving to Clarion in 2008, Colleen began a business doing what she loved – helping people put their best face forward. With “Kiss & Make Up” Colleen used her skills as a makeup artist to help people celebrate some of their happiest occasions – weddings, proms, graduations and the like. In 2014, she began work as a consultant for Norwex, a brand of chemical-free cleaning products that she truly believed in. In 2015 she rose to the rank of Senior Executive Sales Leader, the first in Pennsylvania, becoming one of the company’s fastest-rising stars.

Colleen cherished time with her family and loved nothing more than cooking a hearty meal, playing a game of cards and going for a boat ride. She lived a life of fierce determination, boundless love and abundant faith. Colleen had strong, lifelong friendships with many, who also served as her “prayer warriors” during her recent illness. Her quick wit, talent for mimicry and good-natured spirit will be sorely missed.

She received amazing care and support from the staff at UPMC Shadyside. Profound thanks, in particular, to Dr. Anastasios Raptis his office and the transplant team, Dr Weber, and nursing staff of 7 Main, 7 West, and 3 West.  All places her family will consider a second home.

She is survived by her husband Evan, and their daughters Avery and Rowan of Clarion, her parents mother and father in law Greg & Roberta Faller of Fryburg, a brother in law Adam Faller, his wife Karen, and their children Shelby, and Aiden, her mother Jean McCormick of Des Plaines, a sister Heather Toll, her husband Dan, and their children Abbi, Danny, and Isabella of Solon, OH, stepmother Mern McCormick of Nooksack, Washington, and many aunts, uncles, cousins.

Colleen was preceded in death by her father Thomas McCormick, her grandparents Kathleen & James Madden, and an uncle Greg McCormick.

The family will receive friends at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8. Mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church of Clarion at 11AM on Friday, September 2, 2016 with Rev. Monty Sayers Pastor presiding.

The family asks that in lieu of flower any donations may be made to Immaculate Conception School.  In memory of Colleen a blood drive and stem cell donor signup is scheduled for October 19th 1-6:30 at IC School in Clarion in the Meisinger Center.
