Charles Baughman Jr. Obituary

Charles W. Baughman Jr., 75 of Millerstown passed away April 11, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Clarion after an extended illness.

 

Born on August 18, 1938 in Oil City, PA he was the son of Charles H. and Margaret Swisher Baughman who preceded him in death.

 

On August 3, 1963 he was married to the former Barbara Beichner Baughman who survives.

 

Charles was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.

 

He served 3 years in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a truck driver during his time of service and traveled all over Europe. After the Army he drove truck for several companies in the area hauling mostly coal. In his later years he delivered the Derrick in the Knox area.

 

Charles enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his faithful dog Hunter.

 

He is survived by his wife Barbara and their children: Jeanette Lannigan and husband Mark of Shippenville, Bob Baughman and wife Patty of Knox, Paul Baughman and wife Mickey of Strattenville. Grandchildren surviving are Jennifer Shropshire and husband Chris of Savannah, GA; Regina Port and husband John Scott of Clarion; Mary Lannigan and companion Travis of Tionesta; Shana Baughman and companion William of Kennerdale; Robert Baughman of Knox; Brooke and Seth Baughman both of Strattenville. Great-grandchildren Brayden Lannigan, Paisley Jo Barton and arriving in June, Charlotte Memphis “Charlie” Shropshire. A brother Francis Baughman and wife Mary of Millerstown and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg. A parish vigil service will be held at 3:45pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the funeral home.

 

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg with Rev. D.G. Davis II, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the Mass.

 

Military honors will be accorded at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the cemetery by the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox

 

Memorials may be made to St. Michael Church or Clarion County Special Olympics.
