Alice L. (Biltz) Schwab

Alice L. Schwab, 93, of Golden Living Shippenville formerly of Venus passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Clarion Hospital after a brief period of declining health.

Born on September 4, 1922 in Titusville, PA she was the daughter of Charles and Johannah Uhlott Biltz.

She graduated from Oil City High School.

On April 10, 1942 she was married to Nyall E. Schwab who preceded her in death on April 4, 1990.

Alice was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.

She had various jobs in the area and spent most of her time baking wedding and birthday cakes.

Alice enjoyed crocheting, sewing, bowling, Western Square Dancing, baking, canning, and spending time with her family.

Alice was a 4H leader for over 50 years, a member of the Homemakers Club, and also a member of the Lutheran Women's Organization Faith Circle.

Alice is survived by her daughters Judy Slye of Summerville SC, Debbie McClain and husband Bill of Cooperstown, Sharon Fox and husband John of Oil City, Lynda Bauer of Venus. She is survived by grandchildren: Greg, Nicole, Nanette, Melinda, Joshua, Mandy, Johannah, Heather, Tyler, Gene, Kent, Megan, Matthew, Zach. Also eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two brothers Richard and James Biltz, a brother-in-law Clair Schwab and many nieces and nephews survive.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nyall, a son N. Ronald, a son-in-law Dale Slye, and several brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Friday, July 1, 2016, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Venus, with Rev. John A. Wood Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church presiding.  Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery following the service.

Memorials in Alice's honor may be made to Venango County 4H, Faith Lutheran Church or a charity of ones choice.
