William (Bill) E. Shilling

William (Bill) E. Shilling, 72, of Venus passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2019.

Born on August 18, 1946 in New Lebanon, PA he was the son of Kenneth D. and Alice A. Pressler Shilling.

He attended Commodore Perry High School.

On December 19, 1964 he was married to the former Mary Baker Shilling who survives.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.

Bill was a truck driver for most of his life. He worked for many local companies and retired from Refiners in Reno.

In his free time Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and watching NASCAR.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary and their children Bruce Shilling of Fryburg, and Sandra Kaltenbach of Tionesta and Darrin Shilling and wife Crystal of Brookville. Grandchildren surviving include: Carlie and Benjamin Kaltenbach of Tionesta; Forest and Austin Shilling of Brookville. Siblings Margaret (Peg) Hause an husband Wayne of Greenville, Joan Ansell of Sharon, David Shilling and wife Karen of Greenville, Clair Shilling and wife Carolyn of Greenville and John Shilling of Greenville. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, a son-in-law Patrick Kaltenbach, a brother Paul Shilling, and a sister Helen Staub. Also preceded him in death are numerous aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Venus, with Rev. Deborah Jacobson interim Pastor presiding. 

Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery.

Memorials in Bill's honor may be made to American Diabetics Association.
