Velma McCauley Obituary

Velma Mae Kline McCauley, 95, formerly of Venus, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at The Caring Place in Franklin after a period of declining health.

 

Born on November 21, 1921 in Venus, and she was the daughter of Charles Wesley and Bernice Velma Bigley Kline. She was a lifelong resident of the Venus area.

 

Velma attended Kapp School and graduated from Shippenville High School in 1941.

 

She was a life long member of the United Evangelical Church in Venus, PA. She taught Sunday school for thirty-five years, was part of the church choir for over fifty years, and provided special music with the help of her brothers Wade and Harold Kline.

 

Velma inspected lenses at Dehn Optical Co. in Oil City for 17 years, and she also worked as a waitress at the Checker Board Restaurant.

 

Hobbies: Flowers and gardening and activities at the church. Spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

 

Velma is survived by two children: Charles Henry McCauley and his fiance Fran Bidish of Oil City, and Linda Eisenman of Venus. She is also survived by four grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sisters-in-law Lulu Bell Kline of Lake Lucy, and Deloris Kline of Franklin. Velma was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is also survived by numerous nieces and a nephew.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Bonnie Jean McCauley, a son Henry James McCauley, Jr and a son-in-law Allen Eisenman. Also preceding her in death are siblings Harold Kline, Wade “Bud” Kline, Lois Zerbe and her husband Donald and their son Ricky, and an infant sister Bernice Elizabeth.

 

Family and friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. 

Family and friends will also be received on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 10-11am at United Evangelical Church in Venus. Funeral Services will follow at 11am with Rev. Richard Kightlinger Pastor presiding and Rev. Linda Deeter assisting.

Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery following the service.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to United Evangelical Church in Venus or Aseracare, 1600 Peninsula Dr Suite 14, Erie, PA 16505
