Rose Vandervort Obituary

 Rose E. Vandervort, 65 of Newmansville passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her home after a lengthy illness, while surrounded by her family and friends.

 

Born on September 7, 1952 in Newmansville she was the daughter of Norman and Lewanda Carbaugh.

 

She attended North Clarion High School and earned her GED.

 

On October 9, 1968 she was married to Michael Vandervort who survives.

 

She previously attended Newmansville Free Methodist Church.

 

Rose worked at Evenflo Crater in Tionesta after raising her family. She also worked various jobs in the area until she was hired at Blair Call Center in Franklin. She spent 15 years at Blair until her illness prevented her from working.

 

Rose was a very hard worker and she enjoyed helping everyone she came in contact with. She and her best friend Cindy Tatar took great pride in planning their annual fall party which has been going on for 19 years. Rose also enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her grand dogs and horses around the farm. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed watching NASCAR. Every week she could also be found playing bingo with her dear friends Jean McFarland and Jeanna Haslett at the VFW Club in Marienville.

 

Rose is survived by her husband and their children Barry Vandervort and his companion Laura Marshall of Newmansville, Christine Miller and her husband Terry of Sligo. Also surviving are her two grandchildren Dylan Michael and Mikayla Rose Miller who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her sisters Jean Cochran and husband Jerry, Jane Cooper and husband Ray, and also a half-sister Shirley Wells and husband Gene. Her mother-in-law Agnes Vandervort, sisters-in-law Cathy Cochran and husband Nelson and Pam Gindlesperger. Numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and many friends also survive. She will be deeply missed by all those that love her.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law Herb Vandervort, and a brother-in-law Jim Gindlesperger.

 

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2 to 3 pm. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg,with Rev. Chris Hill pastor of the Free Methodist Church of Oil City presiding.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Rose's honor may be made to The Cancer Center, 1 Hospital Drive, Clarion, PA 16214 or Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Dr., Clarion, PA 16214.
