Laura Maneer Obituary

Laura Amadio Maneer, 71 of Tionesta, PA., joined the Communion of Saints with much grace and fanfare on August 9th, 2017.  She bravely fought a long and valiant battle with cancer.
 

Born July 9, 1946 in Warren, PA.  she was proceeded in death by her parents Dr. Angelo Ezio Amadio and Margaret Louise Saylor Amadio of Fryburg, her grandparents Steve and Mary Saylor of Warren, PA. and Biagio and Stamura Amadio of Philadelphia.  

 

After high school Laura attended Robert Morris Business College.  Later she studies and received a degree from Mercyhurst College in Liturgical Studies.

 

Laura had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tionesta.   Before her move to Tionesta, she had dedicated years of service to St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fryburg  as a liturgical minister and Confirmation instructor.

 

Laura spent many years working for her father in his medical practice in Fryburg as the office manager.  After his retirement, she went to work  at North Western Physical Therapy in Titusville in the billing department and retired from that position in 2015.

 

For over 25 years, Laura was a very active member of the National Society Daughters of the American Colonist. She served as National Chairman, Vice Regent for Pennsylvania State Society, and State Chaplian. 


Even while fighting the cancer, Laura had an active social schedule enjoying life to the fullest.  Laura's interest ranged from reading, to knitting, to  gardening, to going to the beach with her family, to watching the cooking channel and Leroy Jethro Gibbs on Tuesday nights, plus singing in the choirs at both St. Mike's and St. Anthony's.  Most of all, Laura loved spending time with family and friends.


She is survived by a daughter Amy M. and Bruce Peoples of Orlando, FL and sons Paul T.  and Sharon Maneer of Locust Grove, VA,  and William J. Maneer of Warrenton, VA.  Laura is also survived by four sisters: Terri Keister of Clarion, PA, Meg Clark of Newtown Square, PA, Mary Rose Lynn (Kenneth) of Montpelier, VA and Angela Brady (Rick) of Remington, VA. Laura has two brothers who survive as well: Blase Amadio of Mansfield, OH and Mark Amadio of Alexandria, VA.  Laura has four grandchildren that she loves and adores.

 

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. 

 

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Anthony Church in Tionesta, with Rev. Joseph Kalinowski Pastor presiding.  Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the mass.

 

Memorials in Laura's honor can be made to the National Society Daughters of the American Colonist at 2205 Massachusetts Ave. NW Washington DC 20008-2813.
