Kenneth Baker Obituary

Kenneth E. Baker, 91, of Shippenville, formerly of Huefner passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehab Center after a period of declining health. He had been a resident for 3 years.

 

Born on September 17, 1927 in Huefner, he was the son of the late Russell and Florence Kaness Baker.

 

He attended the Huefner school.

 

Kenneth was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus for many years.

 

He was employed at several jobs working as a truck driver for PA dept of transportation, Krevda Brothers Express (KBX)in Knox, hauling milk for Jim Ginnery. Ken also worked with his brother Loy Baker tending oil wells.

 

Ken enjoyed visiting with friends at many restaurants around Clarion and other towns in the area.

 

He was a member of Western PA Teamsters local 538.

 

Ken was in the Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952.

 

He is survived by a sister Ethel Krevda of Hermitage and sister in law Judith E Baker of Fryburg. Also surving are several nieces and great nieces and nephews along with cousins Frank M Baker Jr. and his son Frank M Baker III.

 

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Loy Baker and an infant sister Bernice Baker. Along with Brother in law Michael J Krevda and nephew Kevin M Krevda.

 

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 6 – 8 pm.

Veterans service at the Faller FH Saturday before the funeral service.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Faller Funeral Home in Fryburg, with Pastor Deborah Jacobson, interim pastor of Faith Lutheran Church Venus presiding. 

Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery following the service.

 

Memorials in Kenneth's honor may be made to The Clarion YMCA, Make a Wish or to a charity of ones choice.
