Kathleen S. Bemis, 97, of Tionesta passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Titusville Area Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born on September 22, 1921 in Marlborough, England and she was the daughter of John and Amy Duffin Franklin .
She was married on August 19, 1944 to Raymond L. Bemis who preceded her in death on December 15, 1978.
Kathleen was a member of Endeavor Presbyterian Church in Endeavor.
She was very active at the church and also at the senior center. She also enjoyed knitting, playing the piano and reading. She had a great love for animals and her family was her most precious treasure.
Kathleen was a member of the American Legion Ladies auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by her daughters: Anne Master and huband Art of Titusville, Sandy Donato and husband Fred of Tionesta and Amy Naser and husband George of East Hickory. Grandchildren surviving include Tina Clelard of Titusville, Stacy Custer and husband Steve of Endeavor, Holly Master and fiancee Mark of Spartensburg, Shelli Naser of East Hickory, and Dustin Donato and wife Kara of Tionesta. Great-Grandchildren surviving include Travis Donato and wife Britney of Tionesta, Allen Schley of Titusville, Dillon Schley of Titusville, Daniel Custer of Endeaver, Tyler Swaim of East Hickory and Dawson Donato of Tionesta. Step-great-grandchildren Damien and Justice Keister of Spartensburg; great-great-grandchildren Alexis and Aaliyah Donato of Tionesta and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, two brothers and one sister.
As per her request there will be no public visitation. The family is being cared for by Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
