Joseph Willard Fescenmyer

Joseph W. Fescenmyer, 80, of Marble, passed away August 12, 2017 at the Clarion Hospital after a brief illness.

Born on July 13, 1937 in Millerstown, PA he was the son of the late Frank Ray and Flo Lechner Fescenmyer.

He was a Keystone High School graduate.

On November 24, 1960 he was married to the former Dorothy L. Brand Fescenmyer who preceded him in death on June 10, 2016.

He was a member of St. Michael Church in Fryburg.

Joseph retired from PennDot in the early 1990's and enjoyed spending his free time camping, gardening, watching NASCAR and Westerns, and wood working.

He was a member of the Clarion County Rod and Gun and the Fryburg Sportsman's Club.

Joseph served in the United States Marine Corp. from August 1956 and discharge in June 1959.

Joseph is survived by his children: Joseph Fescenmyer and his wife Nancy of Royersford, PA; Joyce Best and husband Tim of Knox; Jim Fescenmyer and wife Vicki of New Castle; and Janet Krauss and husband Rob of Sligo. Grandchildren Robbie Krauss, Stevie and Kelsey Krauss; Jason and Daniel Fescenmyer. He is also survived by a sister Florabell Best Niederriter and Judy Wiant and her husband Bob, a sister-in-law Darlene Fescenmyer and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, a brother Francis Fescenmyer, a brother-in-law Jack Best, and brother-in-law John Niederriter.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. 

Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski Pastor presiding.  Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the Mass.

Memorials in Joseph's honor may be made to St. Michael Church.
