James E. Merryman

James E Merryman, 81 of Venus, went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by family.

Born on June 24, 1936 in Shippenville he was the son of the late Jay B and Elnora Burns Merryman.

On September 4,1965 he was married to the former Dolores Beary Merryman who survives.

At time of retirement James was owner-operator of Merryman Trucking. Other employment through his career included Amsler Coal and A P Weaver and Sons. He also worked for the Operating Engineers.

James loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting, and wood working.

James is survived by his wife Dolores and their children, Wayne E. Merryman and wife Nicole of Venus, James G Merryman and wife Dawn of Clarion, Kelly Roudybush and husband Ralph of Shippenville, and Dixie Eisenman and husband Kevin of Shippenville. Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Mary Lou Kenyon, and Vivian Slocum and two brothers William and Stephen Merryman also survive. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by two sons Marty L Merryman and Perry R Merryman along with a great grand daughter Hanna. Also preceding him in death were a sister Edna Mae Stumpner and brother Robert Merryman.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 6-8 pm.

Funeral service will be held at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 am on Wednesday June 13, 2018 with Rev. Randy Evans, Chaplin Clarion-Forest VNA presiding. 

Interment will be in the St Michael Cemetery following the service.
