Helen Catherine Graham Culp Smerkar, 93, of Lake Lucy, PA died September 26 at the Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.
Born May 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edna Gilford Graham .
Helen belonged to St Michaels Church in Fryburg, PA.
Helen graduated from Farmington High School in 1945. She worked 32 years at Crator Manufacturing in Tionesta, PA. After retiring Helen volunteered at St Michael’s School, and also volunteered at the food pantry.
In August 1946 Helen was married to William Culp who preceded her in death on April 26, 1988. In April of 1999 she was married to Leroy Smerkar who survives.
Surviving are her husband Leroy Smerkar of Lake Lucy; a son William (Pat) Culp of St Petersburg, Florida; a daughter Patricia (Tom) Eisenman, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; a son-in-law Roger Finfinger of Seneca, PA. She is also survived by the following Grandchildren: Amy Derryberry of Maryville, Tennessee, Lori Frazier of Smyrna, Tennessee, Michael (Tera) Hargenrader of Odessa, Texas, Mark Finfinger of Seneca, PA, Pam (Todd) Reitz of St Petersburg, Florida, Jeff (Charlotte) Lawson of Palnetto, Florida. She is also survived by 8 Great Granchildren: Zachary Derryberry, and Jordyn Frazier both of Tennessee, Sierra Deking, Bradly Deking, and Joshua Hargenrader all of Texas, Sydney Reitz, Shelly Lawson, and Glenda Lawson all of Florida, She is survived by one great great granddaughter Alayna Rae Haynes of Texas. She is survived by one brother Robert (Joan) Graham of Tionesta RD. She is also survived by a cousin Jim Gilford of Fredrick, Maryland.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Carol Culp Finfinger, and her first husband William Culp, three sisters: Norma Davis, Dorothy Frill, and Mary G Lolley and two brothers Archie Graham, and Marion (Dick) Graham
Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at St. Michael Church in Fryburg, at 11 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, with Rev. D.G. Davis III, Pastor of Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish of Corry, presiding.
Interment will be in the St. Michael Cemetery following the Mass.
