Florence M. (Thompson) Wilson

Florence M. Wilson, 87, formerly of Venus passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Clarion Hospital following a brief illness.

Born on March 23, 1931 in Venus she was the daughter of Earl And Lillian Thompson.

She was a Shippenville High School Graduate.

On September 30, 1950, Florence was married to James C. Wilson Jr. and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2011.

Florence was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.

Early in her career she worked at Jamesway, and Hickory Farms. She also assisted in managing Wilson Trucking and taking care of the family farm. When not working Florence enjoyed gardening and riding motorcycle.

She was a member of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Oil City Cycle Club and Keystone Wings.

She is survived by a son Jeffery L. Wilson and wife Betty of Pensacola FL, and a daughter-in-law Marsha Wilson of Venus. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren surviving are: Stacey Campbell, her husband Bill and children Riley and Mason all of New Bethlehem; Tonya Mooney and husband Brian and daughter Makenna of Knox; Melanie Ward, husband Cameron and son Peyton, and daughter Brooklyn of Marble; Josh Wilson and daughter Monica of Tylersburg, Mindy Beichner, and children Izzabell and Ethan of Tylersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parent, her husband, her son Bruce Wilson, and twin granddaughters.

Friends will be received at the Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-7pm.

Funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg, with Rev. Deborah Jacobson interim Pastor of Faith Lutheran Church presiding.

Interment will be in the Venus Cemetery.
