Betty Wagner Obituary

Betty Jean (Jeanie) Wagner, 72, a resident of Highland Oaks at Water Run and formerly of Venus, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Clarion Hospital ICU following a short illness.

Born on March 8, 1946, in Sligo, Pa., she was the daughter of John A. Wagner and Betty J. Deitz Wagner.

Jeanie lived most of her life with her parents who owned and operated Wagner Grocery and J. A. Wagner Income Tax Service.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, of Venus.

Jeanie enjoyed reading, finding recipes to share, doing math problems, visiting her sister Mary, going to the Dollar Store, and - especially telling jokes. She always had a silly joke for everyone she encountered.

Here are a few of her favorites:

- How do you make a milk-shake? ~You tell a scary story.

-Why did the doctor go to the doctor? ~He lost his patients (patience).

- A guy goes into the doctor’s office and says, “Doctor, Doctor, I feel like a deck of cards. ~The doctor says, “Sit down, and I’ll DEAL with you later!”

Jeanie had an extraordinary relationship with the Cancer Center of Clarion Hospital. Whenever she visited the center, all of the employees gave her a hug. No matter what they were doing, they were always supportive and caring, especially her friend Josh. She always had a joke ready for him, and he always had a joke for her in return. The employees at the center made her visits there something that she anticipated.

Her greatest joy throughout her life was being with her family. Jeanie was always filled with hope and encouragement. It didn’t take much to make Jeanie happy - just a warm “hello” would make her day. The slightest thing brought her joy. She had an extraordinary way of making everyone feel special. To be able to say that you knew Jeanie was a blessing in itself. She was truly an angel who was put on this Earth to show everyone the true meaning of goodness.

She will be missed dearly by her family.
